Home Assistant integration

Your farm, native in Home Assistant.

Every Farm-Mesh sensor, transmitter, and repeater shows up in Home Assistant automatically - with the right units, battery levels, and history. No add-on to install, no YAML to write, no custom component.

Open MQTT discovery The same standard Home Assistant uses for Zigbee2MQTT, ESPHome, and Tasmota.
Zero configuration Devices and entities appear on their own - nothing to define by hand.
Runs fully local Point the bridge at your own broker and keep everything on-site, no cloud required.
No vendor lock-in Standard topics and payloads. Your data stays yours and stays portable.
How it works

From the field to your dashboard, automatically.

The Yellow WiFi Bridge speaks Home Assistant's MQTT discovery protocol directly. When a reading arrives, the bridge announces the device to Home Assistant, which builds the entities for you.

🌿

Sensors measure

Soil, tank, pressure, flow, and weather units take readings out in the field.

📡

Mesh delivers

Solar transmitters and repeaters relay each reading back to the Yellow WiFi Bridge.

🔌

Bridge announces

The bridge publishes a retained discovery message per device to your MQTT broker.

🏠

Home Assistant builds

HA creates each device and its entities instantly, with correct units and icons.

Setup

Connected in a few minutes.

If you already run Home Assistant with the Mosquitto broker add-on, you are most of the way there.

1

Have an MQTT broker in Home Assistant

Install the Mosquitto broker add-on and the MQTT integration in Home Assistant. Note the broker's address, and a username and password.

2

Open the Yellow WiFi Bridge settings

On your network, browse to the bridge's web page and open Settings. Under the MQTT section choose Use my own broker - or Farm-Mesh service and my own broker to keep the Farm-Mesh app running at the same time.

3

Enter your broker details

Fill in the broker host, port, and the username and password you set in Mosquitto, then save. The bridge reconnects automatically.

4

Watch your devices appear

The bridge announces every known sensor and repeater. Open Settings → Devices & Services → MQTT in Home Assistant and your Farm-Mesh devices are already there, ready for dashboards and automations.

Your choice

Local, cloud, or both.

The bridge can publish to your own broker, to the Farm-Mesh service, or to both at once - pick whatever fits how you run your farm.

Keep it on-site

Point the bridge only at your own broker and Home Assistant gets every reading without anything leaving your network. Ideal where internet is patchy or you simply want full control of your data.

Best of both

Run the Farm-Mesh app and Home Assistant together. Check readings on your phone from anywhere through the Farm-Mesh service, while Home Assistant builds the automations and dashboards at home - from the very same bridge.
