Everything farmers ask before installing Farm-Mesh — water levels, range, solar power, alerts and more.
Drop a Farm-Mesh level probe into the tank or trough and mount the solar transmitter above the waterline. It reads the level continuously and sends it wirelessly across your farm to the Yellow WiFi Bridge, so you can check every tank from your phone instead of driving the rounds — and get a low-level alert before anything runs dry.
No. Farm-Mesh sensors talk to each other over a long-range LoRa mesh — there is no SIM, no airtime and no cellular contract. Only the Yellow WiFi Bridge connects to the internet, through your existing WiFi or router, when you want to view readings remotely or receive alerts. Out in the paddock the sensors keep reporting even where phones have no signal.
The radios are built for farm-scale distances and work best with a clear line of sight. Where hills, sheds or tree lines get in the way, add a solar repeater on a pole to extend coverage — each repeater hops the signal further, so you can reach the back paddock or a distant bore.
No wiring, no trenching and no electrician. Every sensor and repeater is solar-powered with battery backup and built for permanent outdoor mounting in sun, rain and dust. You mount it, drop in the probe and pair it with the free Farm-Mesh app over Bluetooth — most farmers have a sensor reporting within minutes, and the printed Quick Start Guide walks through every step.
Water tank and trough levels, water and irrigation line pressure, and soil moisture, temperature and salinity — all on the same network. Add as many sensors as you need and they join the same mesh automatically.
Yes — irrigation is one of the most popular uses. Fit a Farm-Mesh pressure sensor on the line to confirm your electric or diesel pump is actually running and holding pressure, so you catch a stalled pump or a burst line before a block goes dry. Use a tank level sensor on fertigation or supply tanks to track how much water and nutrient mix is left. Add a soil sensor in the root zone to see whether each watering is actually reaching the roots — and because it also reads salinity, you can watch the salt situation over a season and tell at a glance whether it’s improving, getting worse or holding steady.
The sensor mesh runs entirely on its own radio network, independent of the internet. To see readings remotely or get phone alerts, the Yellow WiFi Bridge needs an internet connection at just one location — home WiFi, a router or Starlink all work well. Everything in between is covered by the mesh.
Yes. Set a threshold on a water tank or trough and Farm-Mesh pushes an alert to your phone through the free app for Android and iOS when the level drops below it — so you know before stock run out of water.
Yes, natively. Point the Yellow WiFi Bridge at your MQTT broker and every sensor, transmitter and repeater appears in Home Assistant automatically — with the right units, battery levels and history, and no add-on, YAML or custom component.
There is no cellular plan or SIM airtime to pay for, and the Farm-Mesh app for Android and iOS is free. You buy the hardware once and run it on your own network.
Absolutely. Start with one tank and a bridge, then add sensors and solar repeaters whenever you like, so your coverage and monitoring grow with the farm.
